Patented Sentry Fail Safe™ Plus Berm
Basic Concepts introduces the latest version of the original one-piece, drive-thru spill containment berm. With the Fail Safe™ Plus spill berm, you are ready for spill containment in seconds. It is enough for the most stringent spill control requirements.(US Patent No. 5,316,175)

The Fail Safe™ Plus Spill Berm is another example of working with our customer base to provide the ideal solution. For decades, the Sentry Quickberm has been the spill berm of choice for the U.S. military and continues to be the standard. However, several customers approached us for a spill berm solution that would address high wind and tighter maneuverability issues.
The solution was a drive on from any angle lay flat design that incorporates the Fail Safe™ patented features on all four sides of the spill berm.

Patented Sentry Fail Safe™ Spill Berm with Angle Bracket Sidewalls
A customer had a high traffic application at a loading rack. It was desired to be able to enter and exit without manually having to raise and lower the wall. This was a perfect application for the Sentry Fail Safe™, however the customer wanted to increase the useable area and reduce the tripping hazards by eliminating the inside strap supports. The solution was to incorporate Basic Concepts’ Angle Brackets into the side wall design. This application was a permanent installation, so having a single piece construction spill berm that requires no assembly was not an important feature for this customer. By listening to the customer and having the flexibility to design spill berms for individual customer applications, Basic Concepts offers a level of service that can not be matched. Couple that design flexibility with over 20 years of spill berm manufacturing experience, short lead times and a strong commitment to quality and you earn a reputation for being the best.

The Original Sentry Fail Safe™ Berm
In climates that receive heavy snowfall, any float up designed spill berm is susceptible to failure.  With snow and ice weighing down the float up wall, there is a high probability that the wall will be unable to float up in the event of a spill.

The solution is in the skid plate outside straps. With this design, you still have the advantages of a float up wall but in the event that you want to guarantee containment, simply lock the outside strap supports in the raised position.

An ideal scenario is when you leave your facility for the day and want to rest assured that while you are gone, you still have your containment.  Use the float up walls during the work day and then at the end of the day raise the walls into a locking position and you can rest assured that your spill berm will contain any spills.

Arctic Condition Spill Berms

The Basic Concepts Spill Berms can be modified using alternative fabrics to weather the harshest weather conditions.  Having berms deployed in Antarctica has provided Basic Concepts with the knowledge and experience necessary for manufacturing berms for sub zero conditions.
